The brokerage team at FYI spent the past weekend at the 30th edition of the Palm Beach International Boat Show with 4 boats on display including the 151’ Delta Marine – ‘Katya’, an 88’ Leopard, 66’ Viking Enclosed Flybridge and a 54’ Bertram Convertible. While FYI’s brokerage fleet consists of yachts and boats built across the globe, their presence at PBIBS was focused around industry leading US boat builders with 3 of the 4 vessels on display built here in the USA.
US Boat Sales on the Rise
The show this year followed trend in exemplifying the strength and growth of the US boat & yacht market. In 2014, US boat sales increased almost 78%. The 2015 PBIBS was the biggest yet in the show’s history, with 632 boats on display valued at $1.2 billion USD and was attended by approx. 40,000 people.
FYI’s brokerage division was given a great reception by the show’s attendees whom continue to recognize the quality, variety and appeal of our central listings and services.
Amongst its under-80ft boats on display, FYI’s brokerage exhibition included two leading US sportfisherman builders – Viking & Bertram. On the other end of the spectrum, FYI’s presence amongst the rapidly growing super-yacht sector at PBIBS was spearheaded by another US builder with a 151’ Delta Marine ‘Katya’, built in 2009. Katya was added to FYI’s super-yacht fleet in January of 2015, which boasts over 50 central listings.
What’s Next for FYI
The Palm Beach International Boat Show is the last major event on the US boat show circuit, however FYI will be present at the Panama International Boat Show in May and the Monaco Yacht Show in September.
